Cúirt International Festival of Literature is seeking to appoint a Festival Administrator and Marketing Officer for the 2025 festival.
The role of Festival Administrator will be responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of the festival through effective and efficient administration and finance support throughout the life-cycle of the festival. Responsibilities will include box office, sponsorship, marketing, evaluation and production.
The role of Marketing Officer will be responsible for developing and delivering the marketing plan for the 2025 festival in April. This will involve delivering marketing and promotional campaigns, incorporating online and print advertising, social media and website management, liaising with media partners, publicists and external suppliers, among other responsibilities.
Closing Date: Applications for these positions will be accepted until 5pm on Wednesday 4th December. Interviews will take place week of 9th December.

Job Descriptions
Job Title: Festival Administrator
Reporting to: Festival Director
Purpose: As Festival Administrator for Cúirt, you are responsible for supporting the planning and delivery of the festival through effective and efficient administration and finance support throughout the life-cycle of the festival. Responsibilities will include box office, sponsorship, marketing, evaluation and production.
Key Deliverables:
- Management of the day-to-day administration of the Cúirt office, including maintaining effective office systems, handling email enquiries, monitoring and maintaining equipment and supplies, post and filing
- Management of the Festival’s finances on a daily basis including prompt payment of invoices and banking of receipts and keeping accurate records of all transactions
- Creating and assisting with audience and author surveys and evaluation
- Supporting Festival Director with funding applications and reporting
- Communicating with festival sponsors and partners
- Liaising with Box Office and managing ticket sales and guest lists
- Managing Festival Programme Launch
- Overseeing festival volunteers
- Overseeing festival venues
- Overseeing festival accessibility
- Liaising with printers for physical marketing
- Assisting with the delivery of the festival programme
The above list is not exclusive or exhaustive, and the successful candidate will be required to undertake such duties as may be reasonably required within a small team, agreed with the Festival Director.
Skills:
- Knowledge of and enthusiasm for literature and the arts
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good organisational skills and ability to work independently, meet deadlines and manage several projects at the same time
- Good administrative skills
- Good IT skills, including Google suit or equivalent
- Good team working skills and ability to work within a small team
- Able to work occasional evenings and weekends, particularly during the festival period
Terms: This position is a contract for services and will run from January 2025 – September 2025. Minimum 1 day a week, increasing to 4 days a week in the four-month peak of the festival. Candidates must be available for key festival dates: week of 18th February and week of 7th April.
Location: Remote work option available but office based preferred closer to the festival (Cúirt office is in the Galway Arts Centre in Galway city).
Remuneration: €15 per hour, Freelance Contract
Job Title: Marketing Officer

This will involve delivering marketing and promotional campaigns, incorporating online and print advertising, social media and website management, liaising with media partners, publicists and external suppliers, among other responsibilities.
Key Deliverables:
Marketing
- Deliver all marketing and promotional campaigns: print and digital advertising, social media and website management, mailing list communications
- Develop and implement the marketing plan for the 2025 festival incorporating online and offline audience development strategies
- Generate content for social media platforms, run paid campaigns on Google Ads, Facebook and Instagram and monitor and report on same
- Identify common themes and threads in the festival programme to inform marketing content
- Liaising with marketing partnerships
PR & Communications
- Liaise with publicist across the campaign and support where necessary
- Assist with the planning of the festival programme launch and opening event
Administration
- Liaise with external suppliers including graphic designer, videographer and photographer
- Prepare a marketing report at the end of the festival
Our Ideal Candidate has:
- At least two years marketing experience, preferably in the arts and culture sector
- Enthusiasm for literature, and culture sector and/or live events space
- Fluency working with analytics and data to assess campaign performance
- A high level of competency in written language, organisational skills with excellent attention to detail, clarity of presentation and ability to handle a busy workload
- Experience working with and updating website content management systems
- Experience with various social media profiles, including Facebook, X, YouTube and Instagram
- High level of competency in IT including but not limited to Microsoft applications including Word and Excel
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work as part of a creative and cooperative team in a busy environment
Terms: This position is a contract for services and will run from January – May 2025. Flexible working hours. Candidates must be available for key festival dates: week of 18th February and week of 7th April.

Remuneration: €10,000, Freelance Contract
