REIC (pronounced ‘wreck’) is a multilingual spoken word event featuring poetry, rap, music, storytelling, and everything else you can think of! REIC is a welcoming space where Gaeilge is encouraged. Featuring readings by guest poets Louis de Paor, Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha and musician Ella Fitzgerald and open mic slots, audience participation is encouraged! Turn up early to sign up and secure your space.

Sa leabhar áirithe sin, tá teacht ar thaifeadadh raidió den dán fada One day/Lá dá raibh le ceol nua-chumtha ó Dana Lyn a ainmníodh ar an ngearrliosta dosna New York Festivals Radio Awards 2022.
Louis de Paor has been involved with the contemporary renaissance of poetry in Irish since 1980 when he was first published in the poetry journal Innti which he subsequently edited for a time. His most recent works are Obair Bhaile (LeabhairComhar, 2021) and Grá fiar/Crooked love (Bloodaxe 2022) which includes a recording of his collaboration with Dana Lyn, One day/Lá dá raibh, a bilingual performance using poetry and music to present a day in the life of an imagined village in the West of Ireland. The recording was broadcast by Lyricfm and Raidió na Gaeltachta in 2021 and awarded a Gold Medal at the New York Festivals Radio Awards in 2022.
Rugadh Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha in 1994 agus tógadh í i gceantar an Lagáin in Oirthear Dhún na nGall. Tá cónaí uirthi i nGaeltacht Chonamara anois. Tá dánta foilsithe aici i bhfoilseacháin éagsúla thar na blianta (Éigse Éireann, An Capall Dorcha, Comhar, Aneas agus HOWL, srl.). Is é Solas Geimhridh agus Dánta Eile (Barzaz, 2023) an chéad chnuasach uaithi.
Laoighseach Ní Choistealbha was born in 1994 and raised in the Lagan area of East Donegal. She now lives in the Conamara Gaeltacht. Her poems have been published in various journals over the years (Poetry Ireland, An Capall Dorcha, Comhar, Aneas, HOWL, etc.). Solas Geimhridh agus Dánta Eile (Barzaz, 2023) is her first collection.
Is ceoltóir agus amhránaí óg í Ella Fitzgerald as Tír Chonaill. Seinneann sí phopcheol agus rac-cheol den chuid is mó, agus bhí tionchar nach beag ag na Beatles agus David Bowie uirthi. Bhuaigh sí craobh uile-Éireann sa cheol in 2022. Tá sí ag súil le gairm a leanúint sa cheol sna blianta amach roimpi.
Ella Fitzgerald is a young musician and singer from Tír Chonaill, Donegal. She plays pop and rock, influenced by acts such as The Beatles and David Bowie. Ella is enjoying experimenting with her style as she advances in her musical career.

Bhí sí ar an liosta ‘100 Women Changing Ireland in 2022’ de chuid an Irish Examiner. Tá sí mar Ealaíontóir Cónaithe le Scoil na Gaeilge, an Léinn Cheiltigh & an Bhéaloidis UCD 2023, agus bhí sí mar Ealaíontóir Cónaithe leis an Dublin Fringe Festival in 2022. Foilsíodh saothar dá cuid sna díolaim Marrow/Cnámh agus Smior, Washing Windows Too, Queering the Green, agus in irisí éagsúla. Chomhbhunaitheoir an chomharghrúpa AerachAiteachGaelach í agus is ambasadóir í le hÁras Scríbhneoirí na hÉireann.
Writer and activist Ciara Ní É has performed in New York, London, Brussels, and Sweden. She was chosen as one of the Irish Examiner’s ‘100 Women Changing Ireland in 2022’. She is Artist in Residence UCD School of Irish, Celtic Studies & Folklore 2023, and she was Artist in Residence with the Dublin Fringe Festival in 2022. Her work has been published in the recent anthologies Bone and Marrow/Cnámh agus Smior, Queering the Green and Washing Windows Too, in various journals, and on YouTube. She is a co-founder of the LGBTQ+ arts collective AerachAiteachGaelach and is an Irish Writers Centre ambassador. She is currently working on her first short film as writer and director.
