Anne Enright always brings a sharp, unflinching gaze to themes of family, love, and the passage of time, capturing both the beauty and the hardship of everyday life. Her work is deeply rooted in the Irish experience, yet resonates with readers worldwide for its honesty and emotional truth.
In 2015, Anne was named Ireland’s first Laureate for Irish Fiction, a role that affirmed her impact on the literary world. Her latest novel, The Wren, The Wren, published in 2024, has been hailed as one of her finest works, winning the Writers’ Prize for Fiction.
Anne Enright has published eight novels and three short story collections including the 2007 Booker Prize-winning novel The Gathering.
One of Ireland’s leading writers, Anne Enright lives in Dublin where she was born in 1962. The author of eight novels, two books of short stories and many essays, she is a winner of the Man Booker Prize (2007) the Irish Novel of the Year (2007 and 2015) and the Writers’ Prize for Fiction (2024). A contributor to The New Yorker, The New York Review of Books and The London Review of Books, she has received the Irish Pen Award for Literature and the Irish Book Awards Bob Hughes Lifetime Achievement Award. Enright was the first Laureate for Irish Fiction (2015-2018) and she is Professor of Fiction at University College Dublin. Her collection of essays, Attention, will be published in November 2025 by Jonathan Cape.

The main auditorium is step free with accessible seating and
accessible toilet facilities. Please let the box office know of any
requirements so that they can assist with seating. There are two
accessible parking spaces on Waterside immediately by the
venue and a further two spaces on Corrib Terrace. There is a
Loop System in every auditorium. There is a Fresh Air Distribution
System. All events at the Town Hall Theatre will be captioned.
