We are delighted to welcome three of the most exciting writers reimagining the genre of horror: Carmen Maria Machado, Sophie White and Camilla Grudova. Join them for a conversation about their latest work and the themes that haunt their writing.
Sophie White’s Where I End is the unsettling story of Aoileann, a young girl who never left the small island where she was born, and whose life revolves around taking care of her bed-bound mother. Camilla Grudova’s Children of Paradise also follows a lonesome, isolated young woman whose life takes a dark turn when she starts working at an old cinema in her city. Carmen Maria Machado’s memoir In the Dream House is a bold dissection of her experiences of domestic abuse, conducted with incredible wit and an inquisitive spirit.
