Book NowLiterary magazines play a pivotal role for new writers, scouting and incubating talent, a vital catalyst for the rich diversity of the Irish literary scene. Founded by University of Galway alumni, Ragaire is a new literary journal flying the flag for Galway, Irish and international writing. Join the editors Aileen McCarthy, Lucy Bleeker and Cormac Culkeen at a showcase event of the magazine’s most recent publications.
Readings will be given by; Úna McCaffrey, Ciara Broderick, Theodore Deppe, and Patrick Deeley.
In addition, Cormac Culkeen will read a poem published in Ragaire Issue 1 by the late Fred Johnston, one of the founders of Cúirt.
Úna McCaffrey is a Dublin-based journalist and a native of Tyrone.
Ciara Broderick is a fiction writer from Galway. She is currently working on a collection of short stories and her second novel.
Theodore Deppe is the author of eight books of poetry. His most recent collection was Impossible Blackbird published by Arlen House in 2024. He lives in Connemara.
Patrick Deeley is a poet, memoirist and children’s writer from Mullagh, Co Galway. His eighth collection with Dedalus Press Keepsake was published in 2024.
