Join us for an evening of poetry featuring two exciting voices published by Doire Press, Michael Dooley and Jennifer Horgan.

Michael Dooley’s debut collection, In Spring We Turned to Water, explores nature, folklore, and memory with striking imagery and lyrical intensity. Jennifer Horgan’s debut collection, Care, promises a poignant and hopeful exploration of human connection and our propensity towards kindness.

Michael Dooley’s poems have appeared in Banshee, the Irish Independent, Poetry Ireland Review, The Stinging Fly, and have been broadcast on RTÉ Radio One. He has had work shortlisted for prizes including The Patrick Kavanagh Award, The Strokestown International Poetry Competition, The Fool for Poetry International Chapbook Competition, and The Cúirt New Writing Prize, among others. His debut collection, In Spring We Turned to Water (2024), is published by Doire Press.

Jennifer Horgan is a Cork poet, teacher and columnist. Her work has appeared in Howl, Crannóg, Southword and The Honest Ulsterman.

In 2023 she was awarded a mentorship with Thomas McCarthy through the Munster Literature Centre.

Her debut collection Care is being released in April 2025 with Doire Press.

The Cornstore entrances are step free but have limited wheelchair access due to the width of the doors. The venue has internal steps with limited space to navigate with certain mobility
aids. The street entrance has a step. There is one accessible parking space on Middle Street immediately outside, and three spaces on Saint Augustine Street. There are no accessible public
bathrooms.

There is no Loop system.
